2018 - January - Brody turns 4!!!!

 We had WFC in Marion this year, and it was so fun! and cold!! Brody was THE HAPPIEST little boy in the world to turn 4!!!!

The boys and I started going through the book of Matthew for our morning bible time (officially started on 12/12/17 as we prepare our hearts for the Savior's birth). It is SUCH a precious book!! Here are a few things we learned together from Matthew and Charles Erdmund's commentary on it:

"As Matthew tells the story of redemption, he does not consistently follow the order of time, but he  groups similar events and teachings which may be logically related, and so heightens the effects. Luke, by contrast, follows the order of time. Luke has been compared to a botanist who likes to follow a stream and to examine each flower in its native home. But Mat thew prefers to father the blossoms and to arrange them according to kind of color in great clusters of beauty! Such a method enables the reader to see with increasing clearness the kingly majesty of Christ!" Charles Erdmud, morning bible time

"Matthew, the gospel of the King! The figure of Jesus is painted in royalty. His ancestry is traced from a royal line, His birth is dreaded by a rival king, wise men offer their royal gifts, His herald declares that the kingdom is at hand, His miracles are His royal credentials, His temptation reaches its climax when He's offered the kingdom of the world, His parables are termed, 'mysteries of the kingdom', He is hailed 'Son of David', and more! In Matthew, allusions are made to 65 OT passages, thus Matthew is the 'gospel of fulfillment'. It faces the OT and properly begins the NT. It shows how the ancient Scriptures are linked with the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ!" Charles Erdmund, morning bible time with the boys

Life is abundantly sweet! Andrew is such a faithful and kind husband and father!  And here are a few letters Andrew wrote to me this month!

"Aww Honey!! You take such good care of us!! I was totally planning to get up and shred the pork with you. I must not have heard you at all. 😕 Sorry!! Thank you so much for your labor of love for our family!! I'm really looking forward to trying this pork that has taken so long to prepare. I'm sure it will be wonderful. 😀 Have such a great time at Liberty Tech! You're gonna love it! I love you so much!!!! ❤, A" (spoiler alert- we LOVED the pork and have made it countless times to date - currently July of 2025. Never, ever stop making this pork!!)

"Good morning my sweet, gorgeous bride!! Brody's birthday was a big Cars 3 party!! Oh, boy! It was so sweet and so fun!! We got 11 big bags of popcorn, 72 cans of Sprite, had a big Cars cake, and watched Cars 3 on our big TV! the guests included: the Pesces, Paffords, Walters, Hoffmans, Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Papa, Gggma and Ggpa, Henderson, and others. Mommy and Daddy got Brody a cool RC car, Nana and Papa got home Legos, hotwheels, and a cool swimsuit. Grandma and Grandpa got Brody a guitar, Gma Sally got Brody money, and Ggma and Ggpa got Brody a John Deere zippie! It was such a precious day!!
